Hosting an AmeriCorps Member
Organizations interested in becoming a service site for an AmeriCorps direct service member (or two!) must demonstrate a community need or gap in services that an AmeriCorps member may address. Sites also need the capacity to recruit, train, and support an AmeriCorps member. Since AmeriCorps is not considered employment, we seek to work with sites that craft a meaningful role for their member. All organizations must select a site supervisor to mentor and manage their AmeriCorps member that also acts as the primary contact with our staff. Sites are selected upon review of a detailed application by an internal panel at HHCK upon having a demonstrated need, an evidence-based or evidence-informed delivery model for services, a clear recruitment and retention plan, and organizational capacity.

Activities of an AmeriCorps Member: including, but not limited to, housing-focused case management, financial literacy training, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, housing counseling, and building, renovating, and weatherizing affordable housing. See our full list of member activities here.

Questions regarding the program should be directed to Holly Dennis, Program Director.
